IGNOU Assignment 2026 : Indira Gandhi National Open University has started the assignment submission process for the July session. The candidates who are doing any UG, PG, Diploma and Certificate course must submit their assignments prior to the deadline. The IGNOU assignment submission last date has been extended till 15 September 2026. Students who are seeking admission to courses such as BA, BCom, BBA, BSc, BCA, MA, MBA and many more courses assignments are compulsory for all the courses and to appear in the final examination the students of MCom, MSc, MCA & MSW of IGNOU have to submit their assignments online on official assignment portal.

Students who have completed their IGNOU admission process can submit their assignments along with the front page. The IGNOU assignments cover page includes details of the course as well as the student’s enrollment number from IGNOU. In the final IGNOU result the assignment will be given 30% weightage. Students passing grades in the 2026 session should get above 40% marks in the final IGNOU grade card.

Can I Submit the IGNOU Assignment After the Deadline?

Students definitely can still submit assignments after the deadline but only via regional or study centre, there will be no online submission after the deadline. IGNOU has requested particular information in the first page of the assignments so that it is possible to identify the student and the assignment subject. Similar information is needed for the study centre code on the cover page. At the end of the front page, students will also have to provide their signature and the date of submission.

The assignment submission process for all the bachelor’s courses of the July 2026 academic session has been started at Indira Gandhi National Open University. Applicants who are working on undergraduate (UG) courses assignments are to be submitted on the official website. The last date for submitting the IGNOU UG assignment is 15 September 2026. IGNOU Assignment Status 

The submission of assignments for all UG and PG courses is open in Indira Gandhi National Open University July session. Students who have submitted their assignments at IGNOU can see the status of their assignments using a login on the IGNOU website. Students can view the status of assignments on a dedicated online portal where they are able to enter their enrollment number and subject code and in the result screen they will find the status and progress of the evaluation of their assignment.

How to Submit IGNOU Assignments

There are two ways to submit IGNOU assignments:

• Offline Submission: Students need to visit the regional centre to their allotted area during the time of IGNOU admission and present the completed assignment with a front page.
• Online Submission: Most IGNOU courses allow online submission of assignments. IGNOU will provide a link for submitting assignments in the official website of the concerned regional centre for online.

IGNOU Offline Assignment Submission

To submit assignments offline, students must go to their regional centre where the assignments are due and complete the following:

1. Make sure to do the work on A4 size paper and spiral bind them.
2. Make a cover page containing all required information (subject code and submission date).
3. Pay a visit at the regional centre of IGNOU during working hours.
4. It is the student service cell at the regional centre they will ask for.
5. See the IGNOU representative and hand over the completed assignment to them.

IGNOU Online Assignment Submission 

Students may be provided with online assignment forms on their Regional Centre website for specific Courses and Programmes. To complete the submission online:

1. Copy the assignment that is completed digitally.
2. Go to the website of your assigned regional centre (RC).
3. On the homepage, click on the announcement menu.
4. Prior to the deadline, check there for the link to submit assignments.
5. Click on the form.
6. Fill in the form and upload the assignment file.
7. Submit the form.

How to Submit IGNOU Online Assignments on the LMS Portal

1. Log in to the LMS website.
2. Log on with your enrollment ID.
3. Click on my course to see the courses you.
4. Click on all to view your paid courses.
5. Select the particular course required.
6. To add or download an assignment, click on assignment in the menu.
7. Select add submission.
8. Upload the PDF file.
9. Submit your new submission will now appear on the LMS portal.

Where to Check the IGNOU Assignment Result

IGNOU usually declares the results of the assignments within 15 to 30 days of the submission of the assignment. The results will be published on the official site of the university or on the login site of the student. Students will need to require their enrollment number and programme code to check your result.

What if Students Do Not Submit Assignments?

If students do not submit assignments on time it will lead to cancellation of hall tickets in the Term End Examination as it is necessary to submit assignments to complete the examination form. If a student fails to submit assignments in one session they may submit them in the next session. But if students do not submit their assignments on time, they will not be able to download their hall ticket and will not be allowed to appear for the exams.
