Indira Gandhi MEd program of 2 years is a professional degree program for experienced teachers. IGNOU MEd Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria

An MEd from IGNOU is not possible since UGC has not approved the Master of Education program in Distance Education. It is necessary to have a B.Ed. degree from an accredited university with at least half of the minimum score. NCTE acknowledges the IGNOU program. NCTE has accredited the nation’s teacher education institutions. When the NCTE regulations were first announced in March 2010 they were rated at 50%. 

1. A degree in education (B.Ed. or a Bachelor of Elementary Education degree B.El. Ed. a degree). 

2. As an alternative a BA-B.Ed. or BSc-B.Ed. degree is also acceptable. 55% is the minimum score in the B.Ed. BEl. Ed program. 

3. Candidates from the ST SC OBC and minority categories are granted a 5% relaxation.

• Register with your username and password
• Sign in to your student account with credentials and fill all details in online application form like name, number, address, etc

• Size of all files must be under 200kb and in JPG or PDF mode

A candidate can check their admission status by logging into https://isms.ignou.ac.in after completing the IGNOU admission process for any UG or PG courses changeadmdata/AdmissionStatusNew. Some basic information like name and enrollment number must be provided. It typically takes 15 to 30 days for IGNOU to confirm an applicant’s admission. University will send a confirmation email or text message to the candidates registered email address and mobile number respectively if they are chosen for the specific course they have selected. Before being admitted students must also create an ABC ID and a DEB ID.

Total fee of the MEd program at Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU) is roughly INR 36,000. There may also be a INR 300 one-time registration fee. Every MEd subject has books that contain the program’s components. IGNOU MEd study materials are printed for self-instruction on both theoretical and practical topics. A book has 3 to 6 units.
