IGNOU Convocation 2026: Date Registration and Details

IGNOU Convocation 2026 : Indira Gandhi National Open University is going to organize its 40th convocation for the students who have completed their programmes. To be eligible to receive original certification, students must have successfully completed their program in the December 2025 and June 2026 term end examinations. IGNOU 40th Convocation 2026 registration is ongoing now. The students are to be registered to attend the convocation to be held on 15 September 2026. Students have to attend the convocation and collect the certificate from their respective regional centre.

Students can attend convocation at any regional centre closest to them. Students are required to register online along with payment of the fee (INR 600 for Master’s, Bachelor’s, Diploma, PhD, Mphil and INR 200 for certificate courses). Online payment modes are available. Registration process has been started by IGNOU for the 40th Convocation for those who have appeared for their December 2025 and June 2026 Term End Examination. IGNOU 40th Convocation is scheduled to be held on September 15, 2026 at IGNOU Campus, Maidan Garhi, Delhi 110068. As registration for the 40th Convocation of the IGNOU is quite quick, no documents are required. To participate in the next convocation, you must register online. The enrollment number of students should be 9 or 10 digits which has been provided at the time of admission in IGNOU.

The candidates are required to register online by clicking on the “Online Registration” link and make the payment by any of the accepted online payment methods, if applicable. For the 40th Convocation, IGNOU’s registration deadline is 15 September 2026.

IGNOU 40th Convocation 2026 Registration

Indira Gandhi National University will start the registration procedure for eligible students to avail certificate, diploma or degree at the 40th Convocation. Students who have successfully completed courses in the various faculty of IGNOU such as the BA, BCom, BSc, MA, MCom, MSc, MBA, MLIS and other courses need to register to appear for the convocation. Go to the official website of IGNOU and submit the IGNOU 40th Convocation registration form 2026 by 15th September 2026. The applicants can register online via the official website. The students who have passed their December 2025 and June 2026 term end exams can apply for the 40th convocation at IGNOU. 

IGNOU 40th Convocation Fee 2026 

The fees for 40th convocation of IGNOU masters, bachelors, PhD and diploma courses will continue to be Rs 600 per certificate. The PG Certificate and Certificate program students are required to apply for IGNOU Convocation and pay Rs 200 per certificate for their certificate program. Where students had been registered for any certificate programme or postgraduate certificate programme they did not have to register for the convocation or pay any fees. Your certificate of the programme will be sent to you at your address by Indira Gandhi National Open University without any formalities.

How to Apply for IGNOU Convocation 2026 

The applicants can follow the steps which are mentioned below to register for IGNOU 40th convocation:

Step 1: Go to the official website of 40th Convocation.

Step 2: Login into the student registration portal with your enrolment number.

Step 3: Make the necessary fee payment for Master Degree/ Bachelor Degree / PG Diploma/ Diploma programme costs Rs. 600 and for PG Certificate or Certificate programmes is Rs. 200.

Step 4: Print the Acknowledgement slip and click on Submit to let the server know.

IGNOU Convocation 2026 Documents Required 

A soft copy of the relevant documents (educational certificates, a scan of passport size photographs, signature, reservation certificate, address proof, etc. ) is required by the university which must be clearly visible and well scanned before uploading. IGNOU Convocation 2026 Dress Code 

There is a separate dress code for male and female students for the IGNOU Convocation. The candidates for male should wear white or off white cream coloured Bharatiya Paridhan (Indian Dress) preferably Handloom or Khadi. For female students, white or off-white or cream coloured Bharatiya Paridhan (Indian Dress) Sari or Salwar Kurtas or Salwar Kameez to be worn. The female students also prefer to dress in clothes made of Handloom or Khadi.
